1. Order from Chaos The Spirit's role in the initial act of creation. Genesis 1:2 — "The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters."
2. The Face of God How the Spirit reveals God’s presence in the OT. Psalm 139:7 — "Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?"
3. The Spirit of the Lord The Spirit empowering leaders and prophets. 1 Samuel 16:13 — "And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward."
4. Dwelling Within The promise of the Spirit’s internal presence. Ezekiel 36:27 — "And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes."
5. Trinitarian Fellowship The Spirit’s place within the Godhead. 2 Corinthians 13:14 — "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ... and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
6. The Sustainer The Spirit’s role in the earthly ministry of Jesus. Luke 4:1 — "And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit."

8. A Heavenly Birth The Spirit’s work in the miracle of regeneration. John 3:5 — "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
9. A Heavenly Helper The role of the Spirit as our Advocate (Paraclete). John 14:16 — "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever."
10. Walking in the Spirit The Spirit’s daily work in our sanctification. Galatians 5:16 — "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
11. The Inward Groan How the Spirit assists us in prayer and weakness. Romans 8:26 — "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness... the Spirit himself intercedes for us."
12. The Spirit of Sonship The Spirit's witness to our adoption as God's children. Romans 8:15 — "But you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!'"
